Poverty is usually defined as the state of being very poor. But there are different aspects of poverty. It is about not having enough money to meet the basic needs including food, clothing and shelter. As the World Bank describes it, poverty is: “Poverty is hunger. Poverty is lack of shelter. Poverty is being sick and not being able to see a doctor.Poverty is not having access to school and not knowing how to read. Poverty is not having a job, is fear forthe future, living one day at a time”.

The vicious circle of poverty is such that if any person enters into poverty it is very difficult for them to come out of it as there is always lack of resources and means to get out of poverty.

Education is a boon
Education plays a vital role in eradicating poverty out of the lives of common people. Thus poverty is also about not being able to get education but there are various ways through which people that are deprived of education can attain education and can help themselves come out of poverty. This can happen because any kind of education tends to develop a kind of skill set that is unique for an individual to acquire to help themselves on the grounds of financial aspects. Education not only empowers people to make a living it also help them in providing a better life on a comparative basis. As education focuses on an overall development of any individual if becomes rather a virtue that an educated person always look for better option of living a good life and that awareness helps individuals who have gone through education, to attain more in their life and help them in getting out of poverty.
